PROJECT

Kraft Mechanical recently completed a boiler replacement project at Empire Apartments in St. Cloud, Minnesota, helping ensure reliable heating performance and long-term system efficiency for residents.

The project involved replacing two existing 2,000,000 BTU boilers located in the apartment building’s 11th-floor penthouse mechanical room. Due to the location of the equipment, careful planning and coordination were required to safely remove the existing boilers and install the new high-capacity systems within the confined mechanical space.

The new boilers provide improved reliability, energy efficiency, and heating performance, helping support the building’s heating demands while reducing maintenance concerns and extending the life of the facility’s mechanical infrastructure.

Working as both the mechanical contractor and general contractor, Kraft Mechanical collaborated with Design Tree to successfully deliver the project while maintaining schedules and minimizing disruptions to building operations. Completed in October 2025, the $200,000 project highlights Kraft Mechanical’s expertise in complex boiler replacements and mechanical system upgrades for multi-family residential facilities.
